Health2Earn is a Peer-to-Peer Rewarding Solution powered by Strava and dHealth Network. Using a smart contract that we developed, participants are rewarded for completing healthy activities.
This project was worked on in a collaboration with dHealth Foundation, in an attempt to offer a trivial solution for tokenised incentives to reward healthcare patients for healthy activities.

What is Health2Earn?
Health2Earn is a Peer-to-Peer Rewarding Solution powered by Strava and dHealth Network. Using a smart contract that we developed, participants are rewarded for completing healthy activities.
By linking participant’s Strava account to a blockchain identity, this Health-to-Earn showcase is inspired from more traditional Play-to-Earn gaming integrations. The smart contracts of this dapp distribute rewards directly to a user’s dHealth Wallet for activities completed on Strava. Instead of playing a game to earn tokens, this dapp lets users earn tokens for healthy activities that they complete on a social fitness platform.
This project is open-source and available at NPM. The implementation defines an OAuth2-compatible rewarding mechanism that works with many blockchain networks and is based on Webhooks and payment processing technologies.
This software is built using Typescript and Vue and released under an open-source LGPL-3.0 license in collaboration with dHealth Foundation.
Benefits of using Health2Earn
Distributed rewards
This showcase rewards participants for activities they complete using Strava, which is a popular online social fitness platform. The principle is simple, as we mapped the Strava OAuth API to reward participants for healthy activities. Note: we picked Strava out of the lot because we think sport activities are healthy in many occasions.
Health2Earn features a rewarding system that uses secure multi-signature accounts and isolated micro-services to execute operations using dHealth Network.
Health-to-Earn
We introduce a new concept of Health-to-Earn, or short H2E, which consists of a rewarding mechanism that uses online fitness platforms or online fitness data and standard APIs (OpenAPI, OAuth) to determine a reward and to perform the reward on a distributed ledger network.
This concept is borrowed from the more popular Play-to-Earn games that recently launched using similar rewarding systems.
